JOHN BURNS: When dealing with custody cases, we would like to bring our personal experience, as well as our professional experience, to bear. In my situation, I have over 15 years of professional experience. I also have three children, so I understand the ins and outs of different custody issues. Many law firms limit their representation to only the husband or only the wife. Here at Burns Law Office, we represent both male and female clients. We think this gives us a better perspective on custody cases. When dealing with custody and parenting time cases, we're always very careful to allow the emotions to subside. We'll hire the necessary experts to evaluate the situation, if needed. We always want to make a decision that's in the child's best interest. Parents are usually concerned about how will the children handle this. They're also concerned about whether they're going to see the children often enough. We need to put together a plan that accomplishes both what the children need and what the parent needs, in terms of access. We figure out how that plan is going to be implemented, and then we take action.
